About Us
We are a dedicated not profit organisation, support young people aged between 16 and 25 by encouraging them to focus on their strengths and building positive support networks to achieve their desired aspirations, whether that is returning to education, finding meaningful work or making new friendships. Personalised, safe support with compassion is at the heart of our services. support and/or accommodation packages for young people who will usually be aged 16 and 17 years old on admission and will be preparing to leave care, care leavers or are unaccompanied asylum seekers.
Pearls Community Homes provides safe homes with a conducive environment for young people to develop life skills, whilst feeling safe and their holistic wellbeing supported, mentally, physically and encouraged on healthy outcomes.
Our Aim
- To support young people through their transition to independence
- Help young people acquire the necessary skills in preparation for living independently in the community. Practical skills and emotional support to be able to live an independent life.
- Support young people to experiment safely with their increasing freedom and develop responsibilities associated with adulthood, whilst still having the appropriate level of support from appropriately experienced and qualified staff.
Accommodation
We have got several shared accommodations throughout Yorkshire and other areas. The Young person will enjoy their own bedroom which is their own private space, which they can design to their liking and choice. Other areas of the house such as the kitchen, bathroom and lounge are shared with other young people. All the shared houses have 3 to 4 bedrooms. Sharing with others have proved to be therapeutic and relationship building for young people.
We also provide SOLO accommodation for young people according to their level of needs, some who require 1:1 support tailored to individual needs. We offer 2 bedroomed accommodations for solo placements with 24/7 staffed support.
Support Given
We support young people in many areas like accommodation, work and learning, people and support, health choices, how you feel, choices and behaviour, money management and rent, independent life skills . Support maybe given as a group living together in the same house, supported Tenancy with Floating Support, transferable Supported Tenancy and Floating Support, Floating Support or Short Stay (up to 7 nights)depending on individual circumstances.
Our staff are trained and equipped to support young people with their individual needs. Some of the young people may have experienced emotional, sexual and/or physical trauma in their lives, which could have caused them emotional, behavioural and social difficulties and challenges.
The objective is to provide individualised support to each young person using a therapeutic approach to care.
All referrals are considered individually. The aim of the placement would be to provide young people with a secure, stable and structured placements with clear boundaries for the duration identified by their own needs, age appropriate and informed choice led.
